This near-deadline story was the product of teamwork. I edited the column and game story and wrote the decks, captions, jump headlines and overline.

Excluding the stats and blurb underneath the subhead “The heat is on,” I also wrote all the display type — the hammer headline, deck, “Ready to Roll” box, cutlines and jump headline.

This is a copy of a graphic I edited at one of our city newspapers, which was an on-site classroom for college journalism students. It includes my initial edits as well as the news editor’s when he looked at it after me.
