Sports centerpiece headlines

After designing these sports section front pages, I came up with hammer headlines that tied together the photos and stories. On the left is a frustrated pitcher who threw a ball into the stands. On the right is a play on Missouri’s nickname for a Royals-Cardinals game.

Sports front-page balconies
I wrote these blurbs in the Sports front “balcony” at the top of the page that referred to stories inside. Like the centerpiece headlines, they tie together the stories and pictures.
